First, Move to Revue…
The dueling platforms are giving in to consolidate to Revue for newslettering. This comes up in this episode and is a result of looking at the popular Substack (you are here) compared with the platform Twitter bought, Revue, and it came down to the existence of an API in the Revue platform. It is not a good API by any means, but it is something to work with.
So, moving forward there will be one externally-sourced newsletter for Quoggling Sand, at it will be sent via the Revue platform:
The Revue platform was, up to now, used for a “Weekender” newsletter, but now there will be a newsletter sent out for episodes or other “stuff,” sent via Revue. This does not mean newsletters won’t be available natively, but that’s a topic discussed in the episode…
Customer Experience for Whom?
Using the Revue API was a nice reminder how the “customer” is sometimes looking to really dig in to your product or service and make it work for them. It isn’t just answering a quick question about how to install something or how to do the basics. When the doors are open for developers to make use of your platform, well, that’s why there are titles like “developer relations” on LinkedIn, because there is a minimum and it is a job.
