Begin Sprint
A long time coming, it’s time to execute between box-filling or box-moving exercises as part of the relocation event in September, especially if things continue the way they have been in the Las Vegas area as far as test positivity and hospitalizations and other pandemic-related trends. They aren’t good. May as well spend time indoors getting ideas into code, and that’s the plan for the week!
I mentioned this article, from Hackernoon:
How I built a CMS, and why you shouldn’t
I tend to agree, somewhat, except that there are some aspects of many projects that need some kind of content management done by members or, generally speaking, people who are using the platform but who are not developing the platform. Civilians. My intention is not to re-implement Wordpress (though that’s not a bad idea, really), but to implement a specific set of features and capabilities that suit my applications, but in such a way as I can work with core functionality across projects.
So in that article, I suppose I’m claiming a weak Reason 1 and a strong Reason 5 to justify my efforts, but then I am not creating a CMS, and if the overall base architecture is sufficiently flexible, then a headless CMS should fit into the mix if something closer to a “real” CMS is necessary.
It’s just software, right?
